I was the sole designer for the 2015 Compost Fest promotion, Cedar Grove's annual compost sale. I began my process by writing down what I wanted the logo to convey. I wanted consumers to feel like they were participating in something worthy of celebration, so I decided to include a ribbon motif in my logo. Compost Fest’s 2015 marketing message was “Fall is gardening time and a perfect time to apply compost!” To highlight this, I wanted to include autumn imagery and warm tones. Then, I drew some sketches and created digital drafts of the marketing lead’s favorite concepts using Adobe Illustrator, who then selected the final design.
